Stanbic share price gains on increased turnover

Stanbic Holdings share price picked by 0.08% on Thursday to close the day’s session at sh25.02 per share.

Stanbic posted sh37.6m in turnover as 1.5 million share exchanged hands according to market data from Crested Capital.

Overall, during the trading session, four counters including; Stanbic, Cipla, Baroda and MTN posted a combined turnover of sh41m – a 66% increase from the previous day’s sh24.5m. Volumes traded rose to sh1.52 million shares according to Crested Capital.

MTN exchanged sh3.1m from 19,312 shares, Bank of Baroda (BOBU) traded sh140,000 from 1,700 shares and Cipla moved about 63,000 from 900 shares.

On share price movement, MTN's share price dropped slightly by 1.5% while other listed counters remained relatively flat.

The Uganda Securities Exchange All Share Index (ALSI) declined by 0.11% to 1118.62 while the C10, Crested’s Local Company Index lost 0.77% to 95.81.
