Local currency gains ahead of Easter Holidays
The Uganda shilling closed Thursday’s trading session at the 3875/3885 levels ahead of the Easter festivities having opened the session at the 3885/3895.
Catherine Kijjagulwe, the Head of Trading at Absa said, "demand pockets during the day were outpowered by the month-end inflows."
Tight liquidity conditions prevailed in the money markets during Thursday’s session with overnight yields at averages of 11.66%.
