Navigating one’s financial journey to stability and prosperity has become one tiresome equation which many have failed to crack.

But Dr Charles Barugahare, who has practiced financial management for over 25 years, seems to have all the answers in one book.

In his efforts to provide relevant, practical and evolving financial training and coaching, Dr. Barugahare has developed, improved, refined and packaged materials on financial literacy and packaged them into a book titled: “Navigating the financial path – The 30-day Personal Finance Improvement Challenge.”

The book, which is a transformative guide for those eager to enhance their financial well-being, draws from diverse life experiences and emphasizes the power of managing small steps to attain the pivotal role of financial education and action.

By flipping through the pages of this book, one can embark on the challenge of making small daily actions which could lead to significant improvements.

Packed with three modules which include: The basic Finance Fundamentals, The Financial Action Path and Review and Reinforcement, the book is divided into 30 brief chapters based on each day.

During this period, one would evaluate their mindset toward money, learn how money works, learn how to take responsibility for their finances, do financial self-evaluation, learn how to plan expenses for the new month, develop good habits and financial discipline, among others.

The books bring out the fact that the road to poverty is deliberate, just as the road to prosperity is well calculated. It all starts with a simple self-check.

As the reader delves through the pages, they are prompted to indulge in a quick self-assessment aimed at helping them understand who they are, how they are and where they want to be regarding their finances.

Marion Neubronner once said that there are several aspects of self: There is an open self, a blind self, a hidden self and an unknown self, according to Dr Barugahare.

“When you put this into your specific financial perspective, you will realise that there is financial information that is unknown to you. There is financial information that is known to others about you, and there is financial information that is unknown to others about you,” he said.

He points out that an individual has to know where they stand in order to begin or continue on their financial improvement journey.

In the very first module, this book prompts the reader to embark on 8 days of focus by looking at the most important personal finance aspects which include money mindset, how money works, where money is derived from, managing financial finances, where to start from and out leaving fear. The other aspects include dealing with money myths and taking responsibility of one’s personal finances.

“Your biggest opportunity is to learn and develop the practice of building capacity to clearly understand what you want coupled with what you are capable of doing and achieving most of the time,” says the author.

He brings out the fact that there is a silver lining in every situation, and that there is a valuable lesson that one can learn from every situation and be empowered to achieve fundamental personal financial change.

In the second module, one is provided with finance actions to be taken, illustrated and demonstrated, as well as expert insights, with real life examples.

This is intended to create a new supportive atmosphere to learn, design and empower readers to take personal financial action in order to exploit the full potential in them.

Yet in the third module, the reader is provided with 7 means by which they can ignite more momentum to keep track of their journey to personal financial improvement.

“If you earned more money, your capacity to grow and multiply your money would correspondingly increase. Unfortunately, your capacity to spend also significantly increases, hence, most people ultimately fall into this financial trap,” says Barugahare.
