Unit closes Thursday a few shilling stronger

The Uganda currency closed Thursday’s session a few shilling stronger at the 3800/3810 levels helped by continued healthy month-end inflows, interbank sellers, and remittance flows, trading was more or less within a narrow range during the session.

The unit opened the day’s session at 3808/3818 levels. Money market yields were at averages of 11.94% with liquidity tight according Absa. The Uganda Bureau of Statistics is scheduled to release the April inflation data on April 30, 2024.
