Why Spanish musician Cayetana is in Uganda

Spanish musician Caye Cayetana is in Uganda and she is doing live band performances as one of the ways of promoting her music.

She came to Uganda in October 2023 as a social worker for Action Aid Uganda and has been working with the organisation since then.

In an interview with New Vision, Cayetana said music is one of the platforms that she uses to do activism.

"I sing and rap in Spanish and most of my songs have different messages relating to social, economic and political issues affecting our people,” she said.

On Thursday, April 25, Cayetana held a Jam session at Encato Tapas Bar at Acacia Mall in Kampala and performed with the Sin Nombre Band.

She used the show to interact with the audience that came to attend her show that lasted for three hours.

Cayetana has organised more shows within Kololo that are aimed at promoting her music

She was born in Andalusia in Southern Spain in 1994 and started her music career at the age of six.
