Miss Tourism Uganda, a beauty pageant that not only crowns but also celebrates the essence of tourism queens who go on to become the ambassadors of Uganda's cultural heritage, has a new chapter that has begun with the appointment of fresh leaders.

Within the realm of Miss Tourism Uganda, there exist special individuals known as scouts, affectionately referred to as clusters, who select and crown tourism queens in various regions across the country. These clusters are led by individuals deeply entrenched in the world of Miss Tourism or possessing profound knowledge about the intricacies of the pageant.

The duties of these cluster heads extend beyond mere coronations. They are tasked with the responsibilities of mobilising and orchestrating regional Miss Tourism events, as well as advocating for vital support from sponsors.

Additionally, they play a pivotal role in grooming and training the queens who will ultimately vie for the national crown.

Recently, the management of Miss Tourism made a significant announcement regarding changes in leadership within the clusters. This transition has impacted two regions, with Zakia Lucky stepping into the role of cluster head for Miss Tourism Kigezi, taking over from Claire Atwongyeire. Similarly, Gloria Alele has assumed the mantle of cluster head for northern Uganda, succeeding Kotina Akot.

While these changes unfold, the regional tours of Miss Tourism Uganda continue to captivate audiences. In a recent excursion to Toro region, the stage was set for a dazzling display of talent and grace. Among the radiant contestants, Lillian Kempeta claimed the esteemed title of first runner up, while Doreen Ngozi  was crowned second runner up.

The title of Miss Tourism Toro was bestowed upon Racheal Akankunda, who now stands poised to battle for Miss Tourism Uganda at the grand finale on September 13, to be held at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
