Kyabazinga’s royal wedding details revealed

IGANGA - A committee that will be in charge of organizing a royal wedding of the Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Gabula Nadiope IV, and his Inhebantu of Busoga Jovia Mutesi, has been unveiled.

The committee was publicly named during celebrations to mark the ninth coronation anniversary ceremony that was held at Namungalwe saza ground in Kigulu chiefdom, Iganga district on Wednesday.

Busoga Kingdom’s Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Muvawala Nsekere, announced the team comprised of mainly confidants.

He said the 21-member committee, which includes a minister in the Central government, will be headed by Eng. Patrick Batumbya, the Managing Director MBW Consult, an engineering firm.

Muvawala added that the first deputy Prime Minister and Minister of East Africa Community Affairs, Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga will coordinate all the mentioned positions.

Financing Kyabazinga wedding;

Muvawala also read account number 3100095955 of Centenary Bank Jinja branch in the name of Kyabazinga of Busoga, which has been opened for deposits dedicated to the wedding. 

“We encourage all well wishes who wish to contribute financialy to deposit money in the bank. This is the official channel,” he said.

Kyabazinga’s Royal wedding is slated for November 18, 2023, at Christ’s Cathedral Bugembe in Jinja City.  

He said Owek Ivan Kiirya will be a signatory to the account where funds will be deposited.
