Uganda, Huawei to strengthen ties - Minister Nankabirwa

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Ruth Nankabirwa, is in China at the invitation of Huawei.
The minister has held discussions with the company's top managers at their Headquarters and Huawei OX-Campus in Shenzhen Guangdong China aimed at strengthening ties with Uganda.
"I have seen firsthand the incredible innovations they are working on. I was impressed by Huawei's commitment to innovation and their willingness to collaborate with Uganda," Nankabirwa on Monday, May 6, 2024, posted on social platform X formerly Twitter.
"Thank you to Huawei for their hospitality and for opening their doors to us," she added.
This visit, according to the minister marks a significant step towards strengthening ties between our countries and opening new opportunities for growth and development.
Huawei designs develops, manufactures, and sells telecommunications equipment, consumer electronics, smart devices, and various rooftop solar products.
The corporation was founded in 1987 by Ren Zhengfei, a former officer in the People's Liberation Army (PLA).
