Racer Joshua Muwanguzi will use the National Sprint Championship on Sunday to prepare for the SMC Bwera Rally in Masaka that is scheduled for August 5 to 7 in Masaka.

Muwanguzi, who was the route opener in the UMC Fortportal Rally rolled in the second last stage of the event.

“I’m going to Garuga to test the car. The Mechanics have done their role, and I want to see how better the car is as I plan for the Masaka rally, which I have to finish,” Muwanguzi told Vision Sport.

The national rally Sprint championship in Garuga will have its proceeds go to buying a new car for Rally driver Yusuf “Dusty” Bukenya whose car burned to ashes in June 2018 during the UMC Fort Portal rally.

“Dusty” is the son of motorsport legend Wycliffe ‘roll master’ Bukenya, who was both a rally driver and motocross racer.

Muwanguzi navigated by Ritah Nakigozi in Subaru N10 will face stiff opposition from 2WD table leader Oscar Ntambi, defending champion Ibrahim Lubega popularly known as Pasuwa, and Samuel Watendwa.
