Vision Group and the Law Development Centre (LDC) are to partner to deepen the dispensation of justice across the country.

On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, LDC director Frank Nigel Othembi met with the Vision Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Don Wanyama at the company’s headquarters in Kampala.

The duo discussed matters of mutual interest, especially deepening access to justice by creating awareness and providing the public with materials to understand how the pursuit of justice is handled. The discussions were fruitful.

Othembi said Vision Group is a strategic partner, based on its standing as Uganda’s leading daily and media house with tentacles countrywide reach.

“Quite often people are not aware of our services and we thought it was a good idea to be able to publicise our services through Vision Group. LDC is interested in the administration of justice and we are interested in engaging members of the public over the same,” he said.

Othembi disclosed that LDC has a legal clinic where they offer services to indigent persons including women, children, and juveniles who conflict with the law.

Wanyama was receptive to the idea of partnership and assured Othembi that Vision Group would develop a concept and format on how to dispense the gospel of justice to the public through LDC.

“The Law Development Centre and Vision Group are to partner on a couple of initiatives, especially supporting education/awareness and access to justice,” Wanyama said.

He said over the years there has been growing interest around LDC, with many young people seeking to join the centre.

Wanyama however, said they appreciate the need for quality checks and control, saying it is very important.
