Over 15 gov’t agencies awarded for digital solutions
The second edition of the Annual E-Governance Excellence Awards gala happened at Kampala Serena Hotel on Friday evening.
Themed “Bold Digital Government: Embracing disruptive technologies,” the awards recognised the various Government agencies that have played a remarkable role in availing online government services to the public.
While officiating at the gala, President Yoweri Museveni said digital governance will bring efficiency and improved service delivery for the people.

Through a pre-recorded video, Museveni explained that during the pandemic, ICT was used to support the continuity of government work, especially in the Ministry of Health, at Entebbe International Airport and during Covid-19 relief payments.
Electronic government (or e-Government) is defined as the application of ICTs to government functions and procedures with the purpose of increasing efficiency, transparency and citizen participation.
