Ugandan leading firms are set to be honoured at the highly anticipated Pacesetters Awards East African Chapter in Nairobi, Kenya.

The prestigious event, organized by Jubilant Stewards of Africa (JSA), will take place at the Weston Hotel in Nairobi on Friday, June 30, 2023.

This year's regional awards ceremony will bring together 150 firms, 500 entrepreneurs, and various government officials from 10 countries across sub-Saharan Africa.

The Pacesetters Awards (PSA) is an annual industry leadership recognition program initiated by JSA, a non-governmental organization dedicated to improving living standards, social ethics, dignity, and community empowerment.

The awards celebrate key industry leaders for their innovation, quality products, and service delivery, job creation, exemplary leadership, economic growth, and societal transformation.

Unlike traditional awards that solely consider financial performance, the PSA focuses on the economic and social impact of the nominees.

The winners in various categories are selected through a competitive and thorough process that includes a public vote and evaluation by a panel of judges.

The survey for this year's awards started on April 2, 2022, and concluded on April 30, 2023.

The nominees were carefully scrutinized, considering their achievements, community impact, and recognition from other platforms such as the Business Daily KPMG Top 100 Survey and international awards.

Among the esteemed Ugandan firms set to be honored are Service Cops Ltd Uganda, Prudential Insurance Uganda Limited, Uganda Professional Chefs' Union, Extreme Adventure Park-Busiika, RDF Uganda, and School Pay Uganda among others.

These companies have demonstrated exceptional contributions to their respective industries and have made significant positive impacts on society.

Speaking about the selection process, Jared Oundo, the Executive Director of Jubilant Stewards of Africa, emphasized the importance of considering both quantitative and qualitative aspects to determine the winners.

He also highlighted the novel survey model initiated in 2020, which has since proven its functionality, elasticity, and robustness and also further mentioned that various industry models, including those in the financial sector, were remodeled to enhance their relevance and objectivity in the current environment.

The Pacesetters Awards East African Chapter has gained significant recognition and support from notable institutions.

In previous years, partners have included Safaricom Plc, Vehicle and Equipment Leasing Ltd (VAELL), United SMES Association of Kenya, Service Cops Ltd Uganda, Quipbank Trust Limited, and Nation Media Group.

The event is expected to be a grand affair, featuring a gala dinner attended by high-profile guests, government officials, and industry leaders.

Jubilant Stewards of Africa will announce and present the awards to the deserving winners, recognizing their outstanding contributions to their respective fields and their commitment to building a better society.

As Jubilant Stewards of Africa expands its reach, the organization plans to host the Pacesetters Awards in more African countries, starting with Kenya and later expanding to Rwanda.

This move signifies the growing recognition of the crucial role played by industry leaders in driving innovation, economic growth, and social transformation across the continent.

The Pacesetters Awards East African Chapter serves as a powerful platform to honor and showcase the achievements of outstanding individuals and organizations, encouraging others to strive for excellence and make a positive impact in their communities.
