Adventist Church creates new administrative unit in Kampala

KAMPALA - The Archbishop of the Seventh-day Adventist church in Uganda, Dr Moses Maka, has inaugurated Kampala Metropolitan Zone as an administrative unit of Central Uganda Conference (CUC). 

The Sunday function held at Bunga Central church marked a significant milestone in the administrative landscape of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Central Uganda as the Kampala Metropolitan Zone (KMZ). The intention is to prepare KMZ to become a Field (Diocese).

The creation of this zone, under the auspices of the Central Uganda Conference (CUC) of Seventh-day Adventists, aims to enhance administrative efficiency and service delivery within the church structure.

A Zone, as defined by the Adventist Church, acts as an intermediary level between the Conference and District, facilitating streamlined communication and coordination for effective operations.

Officiating at the function, CUC bishop, Samuel Kajoba called for unity amongst the leaders.

 The highlight of the day was the election of the Zone Management Committee, with Pr. Benon Lincoln Kiggundu, the District Leader of Kampala A District, chosen as the committee's leader.

Dr. Sam Biraro, a physician and serving elder at East Kampala Seventh-day Adventist Church in Kira Central District, was appointed as the deputy leader. Several other people were elected to serve as leaders in this new zone as follows: Zone Pastors

The newly formed Kampala Metropolitan Zone brings together three English-speaking Adventist districts: Kampala A, Bunga Central, and Kira Central.

This consolidation is expected to foster unity and collaboration among these districts for the advancement of the church's mission.

During his address, Pr. Samuel Kajoba urged the elected officials to exemplify the harmony and cooperation demonstrated by a choir and its choirmaster.

He emphasized the importance of implementing the strategies outlined by the Central Uganda Conference for the growth and development of the church.

Dr Maka concluded the event with an inspiring presentation on the Union's evangelism strategy, highlighting the objective of doubling membership through various evangelistic initiatives specifically the youths.

The inauguration of the Kampala Metropolitan Zone signifies a new chapter in the journey of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Uganda, reaffirming its commitment to organizational excellence and spiritual growth.

In a gesture of appreciation and support, the Bunga Central church members presented the serving District Leader of Bunga Central with a brand-new vehicle, aiming to facilitate his mobility in carrying out his duties effectively.
