KAMPALA - The Bank of Uganda (BOU) is recruiting for a wide range of technical and specialist roles, with more than half of the advertised positions in Today’s New Vision falling under information technology (IT).

The push for new talent comes at a time when central banks worldwide are investing heavily in digital systems and cybersecurity, as financial transactions and monetary policy increasingly rely on secure, real-time data flows.

The central bank says the vacancies are open to suitably qualified Ugandans, with applications expected to be competitive given the scope of the roles.

Among the largest clusters are four business analyst posts and several roles in IT security, compliance, and systems management.

These include two positions in cybersecurity, two in IT standards and compliance, and two for database administrators.

The central bank is also hiring for vendor and contract management, applications development and support, and network security, reflecting a broad push to strengthen its digital infrastructure.

Other openings point to the growing need for data-driven decision-making in central banking.

The list includes posts in data analytics and business intelligence, as well as data warehouse development and maintenance. There is also a dedicated climate risk officer position.

Beyond IT and analytics, the central bank is seeking a quantity surveyor for building maintenance. Positions in web administration, quality assurance, storage and business resumption were also advertised.
