As Uganda gears up for the forthcoming 31st Uganda International Trade Fair, set for October 2-12, 2025, at the UMA grounds, Ugandan manufacturers have been asked to position their products for the market during the trade fair.

Running under the theme "Sustainable Industrialisation for Inclusive Growth, Employment and Wealth Creation", the trade fair is organised by the Uganda Manufacturers’ Association (UMA), supported by the STI Secretariat, UNISTEEL and Total Energies.

Addressing participants during the launch of the pre-event activities of the trade fair on September 2, 2025, UMA chairman Aga Sekalala said that the fair is a golden opportunity for Ugandans to showcase their very best products that are made in Uganda.

“It is a golden opportunity to proudly showcase the very best of "Made in Uganda" – a vibrant tapestry of creativity, ingenuity, and world-class quality woven by our own hands. Our local manufacturers, many of whom started their journey right here at UGITF, are now making significant strides on the global stage, proving that Ugandan excellence knows no bounds. This Trade Fair is their ultimate stage,” Sekalala said.

He explained further that the trade fair is a platform where Uganda will open up to the international community by embracing exhibitors and investors from across continents.

Sekalala explained that the presence of international exhibitors and investors alongside Uganda’s sponsors is a powerful endorsement of Uganda's growing economic prominence, its stable investment climate, and its strategic position as a gateway to the heart of Africa.

“This fosters invaluable cross-border collaborations, knowledge exchange, and opens new markets for everyone involved,” he added.

From its start in 1992, with less than 50 exhibitors, the number has since grown to over 600 exhibitors and more than 90,000 showgoers annually.

Eddie Senkumba, the chairman of the organising committee, added that over 600 local exhibitors have so far confirmed participation, and more than 150 international exhibitors from over 30 countries have registered their interest to take part.
