Kotido bishop confirms street children into Catholic faith

Kotido Catholic Diocese Bishop Dominic Eibu has confirmed over 200 street children into the Catholic faith in a mss at Denis Community Nsambya in Kampala.
In the same Mass, which took place on Monday, Eibu baptised 30 Karimojong children, while over 50 received their first Holy Communion.
Bishop Eibu, who animated the mass in local dialect, was assisted by his vicar general, Msgr Phillip Lokel, Fr John Bosco Mubagizi.

Bishop Eibu also thanked the catechists, Christians of Nsambya Parish, especially those of St Kevina sub-Parish and all those who trained the street children to receive sacraments.
Some of the street children New Vision spoke to said they dream of going back to school and having a decent life.

"Some of the street children are orphans and some have left unhappy homes. We live under bridges, in railway stations and in markets. We earn money to survive in various ways, including selling plastic water bottles and washing windshields of cars,” Francis Kodet, 17, said.
