The first ever New Vision Education Expo ended on Sunday at the Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology in Nakawa, Kampala, after drawing thousands of people over the three days it happened.

New Vision's senior multimedia journalists Mpalanyi Ssentongo and Eddie Ssejjoba moved around the exhibition stalls/tents and inside the training sections and captured the moments on the third and final day. Take a look:

It was a hot Sunday on the last day of the inaugural education expo.


The most visited tent was of the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA), where people showed up with their young family members to register for a national identification number (NIN).













Stanbic Bank has been a sponsor of the expo. Here, brothers Nicholas Nahamya and Morgan Hillary Tumuhimbise, who work with the bank's FlexiPay service. The bank describes FlexiPay as "the most convenient, secure, and affordable Mobile Money solution that enables individuals and businesses to receive, send and make payments".

The Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) had a presence at the expo.


Prudence Balikuddembe, the public relations officer of DIT said they will this year begin assessing the first group of Senior Three students countrywide who have been studying at least one course in vocational skills.


Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) was represented at the expo.


Unilever had a stall at the expo.

Dr. Diana Nandagire Ntamu, an entrepreneurship development specialist, leading an afternoon training session on how to make one's degree count.








Dr. Sabrina Kitaka, who is very knowledgeable and skilled in the field of reproductive health, particularly for youth, was among the training facilitators at the expo.










The audiences of the different trainings were very attentive.






Vision Group board chairman Patrick Ayota (left) showed up at the expo and was received by Vision Group Editor-in-Chief Barbara Kaija (centre) and Vision Group's Head of Marketing & Communications, Rogers Anguzu (right).


Ayota, who is also the deputy managing director of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), was taken on a tour of the expo.






Ayota saw a seat that can be modified into a ladder.




And the three-wheeler, which he enjoyed a ride in.

State House comptroller Jane Barekye was received at the expo by CEO Wanyama, who took her on a guided tour around the exhibition space.

Research and Education Network for Uganda (RENU) had a presence at the expo. RENU provides Eduroam (education roaming), a worldwide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community.




Clevers' Origin Junior Schools participated in the NIRA schools competition and came third behind Buganda Road Primary School and Nakivubo Blue Primary School. But it was only Clevers' that composes a song about the NIRA birth certificate.




Makerere Business School (MUBS) was represented.





AIESEC is a global platform for young people to develop their leadership potential through practical experiences.


St. Lawrence Citizens' High School exhibited at the expo.
