The Law Development Centre (LDC) is seeking for sh3b in the next financial year to pay the allowances of part-time lecturers.

LDC secretary Hamis Lukyamuzi on March 35, 2024, informed MPs on the legal and parliamentary affairs committee that due to the increased number of students and campuses, they have found themselves with the need to acquire more part time-lecturers.

Lukyamuzi said unlike other institutions, part-time lecturers are people who are already employed in the Government such as judicial officers, state attorneys whose services are needed to educate students.

Lukyamuzi also said they require sh70.3b to complete a multipurpose building which, according to him, once completed will enable them increase on student intake from 2,000 to 3,000 and also increase their non-tax revenue from sh13.5b to sh30b.
