Following the announcement of singer Omega256's upcoming show in Ishaka, coinciding with the date of Mbarara-based singer Ray G's event on May 10, 2024, internet users have criticised her decision.

Most of them are accusing her of being selfish and undermining regional unity, especially since Ray G is often seen as a regional representative.

Responding to the backlash, Omega256, known for her fiery demeanor akin to that of Winnie Nwagi, defended her decision, pointing out that her show is at a different, distant venue and would not interfere with Ray G's event.

"What support do you people really want? I have performed at all of Ray G’s past three concerts at no cost. I even promoted this Lugogo show. Isn’t that enough support? Learn to appreciate," she retorted.

Omega256, whose real name is Shamim Murerwa, has rapidly risen in the music industry with hits such as Keeza, Chamuka, Deep in Love and Ninterwa.

Her recent collaboration with Posha, Kooti, has made her the talk of the music scene in western Uganda.
