Katikkiro bars public from visiting Kabaka in Germany

The Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, has warned those that abuse the Kabaka of repercussions.

"It's a reminder that those who insult or abuse the King of Buganda will be arrested like we did to Pressure (TikToker Ibrahim Musana)," he said while addressing Buganda leaders at Bulange, Mengo on May 6, 2024.

His response came after after one of the members asked if those who have the capacity can go and visit the Kabaka while he is on treatment in Germany. The Katikkiro replied in the negative over fears that some members could insult the Kabaka.

"Ssaabasajja ( Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi) is abroad, where he went to see his doctors. The king will be back when the doctors have finished treating him. I know when the king is not around, there are many challenges, but let’s ensure we take up our usual responsibilities," Mayiga said.

The king has spent a couple of months in Germany for treatment and missed this year's Kabaka Birthday Run. 

He usually seeks specialised treatment from Germany.
