Ugandan party goers are gearing up for a vibrant cultural takeover as Nigerian singer Lojay prepares to headline the inaugural Cantina Fiesta, set to happen at Ndere Cultural Centre on July 26.

The Monalisa hitmaker, whose sultry sound and collaborations with the likes of Chris Brown and Sarz have earned him international acclaim, will lead a diverse lineup of musicians in a celebration that fuses Afrobeat, Soul and Latin rhythms.

Before the main showdown, revelers got a spicy taste of what’s to come during a pre-launch party at Thrones Lounge, Bugolobi, where cross-continental vibes collided in a preview of the upcoming show.

Also set to perform at the event is Rwanda’s fast-rising Kivumbi King, who’s emotionally charged sound is gaining momentum. A Pass, who made a surprise appearance at the pre-launch, stirred excitement among his fans.

According to the organisers, revelers should expect a blend of food, fashion and fiesta, drawing inspiration from Mexican street culture. From tacos and quesadillas to Afrobeats and Amapiano, the event promises a flavorful journey rooted in cultural exchange.

`

“This is going to be a full sensory celebration,” said Eric Okot, Head of BTL at Lumin8, the agency behind the event. “From the food to the music, visuals and fashion, every element is designed to transport guests without ever leaving Kampala.”

Adding to the charm will be immersive décor inspired by Mexico’s colorful traditions, DJ sets and playful fashion touches like Mexican ponchos. Simon Lapyem, Innovations Manager at Uganda Breweries, teased the experience as “a journey that takes Ugandan party lovers on their very first flight to Mexico while staying grounded in the heart of Kampala.”
