Everything—from the stage to the lighting—is tuned, and the ambience and lineup are hyped up as Uganda’s most celebrated jazz saxophonist, Isaiah Katumwa, takes centre stage tonight for his long-awaited 30th anniversary concert at the Serena Hotel, Kampala.





Marking three decades of musical brilliance, this concert is a celebration of timeless artistry, mentorship, and the evolution of jazz in Uganda. With tables already sold out in advance, anticipation has reached fever pitch.




Backed by a stellar lineup of performers, tonight’s show promises unforgettable live music, rich storytelling, and powerful collaborations with some of the finest young talents Isaiah has mentored over the years.




In his own words, Katumwa described this moment as “not an ending, but a new beginning for Ugandan jazz on the world stage.” 




The saxophonist has remained a passionate advocate for pushing the genre forward, and tonight’s performance is a tribute to that lifelong mission.
