Ndiga clan leader murder suspects further remanded

Five people, including two women, have further been remanded to Luzira Prison for allegedly killing
Eng. Daniel Kakeedo Bbosa, the former leader of the Ndiga (sheep) clan.


When the case resumed on Thursday, April 11, 2024, the State Attorney from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Caroline Mpumwire informed the court that investigations are still ongoing.

This prompted the Principal Grade One Magistrate Adams Byarugaba to remand the accused persons to Luzira Prison until May 30, 2024.

The accused persons are Noah Lujja, 21, Harriet Nakiguli,40, Joseph Nakabale, 47, Ezra Mayanja, 44, and Milly Naluwenda, 46, the secretary of the Kisekwa Cultural Court of Buganda and resident of Kitunzi zone 7 in Rubaga Division, Kampala district.

According to the charge sheet, Lujja is a mason from Kabanga village in Mpigi Town Council; Nakiguli, a peasant from Nkere zone in Kawempe Division; Nakabale, a painter from Gala village in Mpigi Town Council and Mayanja a resident of Kiganda zone in Kawempe Division, Kampala district.

They are battling charges of murder, contrary to sections 188 and 189 of the Penal Code Act Cap 120. The offence of murder attracts a maximum sentence of death, upon conviction.

Prosecution alleges that the accused and others still at large, on February 25, 2024, at Kikandwa Lungujja Rubaga Division in Kampala district with malice aforethought unlawfully caused the death of Bbosa.

Hunt for prime suspect

Police have also intensified the search for the prime suspect in the murder of Bbosa, with the latest move seeing five shrines in the Mukono and Wakiso districts raided.

Lujja Bbosa Tabula, the alleged mastermind behind the murder of the businessman, is on the run.

Following a tip-off that Tabula had sought refuge in shrines, Police raided and searched five of them. However, Tabula was reportedly tipped off and eluded arrest.

According to sources, Tabula was seeking solace in shrines thinking he would be protected by traditional spirits, but he was shocked to learn that Police was pursuing him.

On March 4, 2024, President Yoweri Museveni awarded Abdul Katabaazi the much-respected Nalubaale medal for capturing the killers of Bbosa. He commended Katabaazi for his bravery and fight for the noble cause.

“I want to congratulate you; you have done a heroic job. You have now become a bush war fighter like me,” Museveni earlier stated.

Katabaazi, a plumber and motorcycle rider in Kikandwa Zone, Lungujja, Rubaga Division, pursued and captured the assailants, who shot dead Bbosa on February 25, 2024.

Bbosa, aged 72, also the director of Transa Electrical, was shot dead in his car as he approached his home in Kikandwa Zone, Lungujja, Rubaga Division.
