MBARARA - Members of the Archdiocese of Mbarara Development Association (AMDA) have raised shillings 20 million for a medical camp in Mbarara district's Nyamitanga parish on August 30, 2025.
AMDA is an umbrella association uniting all Catholics that hail from Mbarara Catholic Archdiocese living in Kampala and surrounding areas, including Entebbe, Mukono, Wakiso and Jinja. that will be held.
A total of shillings 500 million is required for the health camp meant to offer free health care to community residents.
Mulago Hospital executive director Dr Rosemary Byanyima was the chief runner at the 5km and 10km caravan races, which were flagged off at Kitante Hill school, Kampala city on July 13, 2025.
Byanyima welcomed the marathon as a tool for raising funding for the medical camp.
“Engaging in regular running and exercise is a powerful way to enhance physical health, but a holistic approach is essential. To maximise the benefits of your workouts, it’s equally important to monitor your diet. Without proper nutrition, even consistent exercise may fail to deliver the desired results,” Byanyima said.
