KAMPALA Central Division mayor Godfrey Nyakana on Wednesday cautioned his councillors against politicking. He urged them to get down to work in order to serve their communities.

Nyakana, who was sworn-in at Fairway Hotel with 38 councillors, said political differences should not hinder the development of Kampala.

“We should work with the Government at all levels so that we can implement its programmmes,” he said.

He said all heads of committees would be selected on merit, irrespective of their political affiliation.

Nyakana said the Government was willing to fund all the division programmes.

He pledged to fulfil his promises of good roads, schools, health centres and improved of sanitation.

The Kampala Central MP Ahammed Nsereko in his address to the councilors told them that they should serve and protect the interests of the common man rather focus on non issues.
