The security committee of Terego district has banned deployment of gangs to protect elections by a suspicious section of candidates in the NRM primary elections for MPs scheduled Thursday, July 17, 2025.

RDC Godwin Angalia Terego issued the warning following high tension reported in different camps in both Terego East and West constituencies, in which physical attacks on opponents were reported during campaigns.



Call for calm in Koboko

The NRM party office in Koboko district and the office of the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) have urged the public to be calm and avoid violence during the voting process.

RDC Emmi Mitala has reassured the public and the candidates of the security measures during the voting and the vote tallying process.

Koboko district NRM chairperson Samanya Draniga has warned whoever is planning to disorganise the voting process to dissolve the plans as the party will not entertain any hooliganism.



According to the NRM registrar for Koboko, Bosco Ocima, voting is expected to start at exactly 10:00am and end at 2:00pm.

Koboko district has a total of 434 polling stations with 131,944 registered voters expected to vote.
