President Yoweri Museveni resumed his campaign for a seventh term in Terego District, after taking a day off to chair the 19th Ministerial Meeting of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala on Wednesday.

National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu set off earlier today from Mbale City for his campaign programme in Tororo District.

For Maj. Gen (Rtd) Mugisha Muntu, the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) flag bearer, the day began in Kayabwe Town Council, Mpigi District, where he addressed supporters and engaged with local leaders.

Meanwhile, Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Nathan Nandala Mafabi kicked off his day’s activities along the Mbale–Tororo road, heading to Busia to canvass for votes as he seeks to unseat the incumbent.

Here’s a glimpse of how the day unfolded on the campaign trail, captured through our lenses. Check out the pictures below.

Let's begin with President Museveni's campaign in Terego. Before his arrival, the entire town was painted yellow up to Leju Stadium, where NRM supporters gathered to cheer and listen to the incumbent speaking.

When Museveni arrived, the entire stadium erupted with joy and celebration. The crowd raised their flags and cheered loudly as he waved back at them.

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential aspirant Nandala Mafabi’s campaign trail was briefly disrupted when the Police blocked his convoy at the Tororo Cement Industry Junction.

After a tense 10-minute standoff, his team pushed through, only to face another blockade at Kayola stage in Busia Municipality. Undeterred, Mafabi pressed on with his schedule, determined to meet supporters across Busia.

While canvassing for votes, Muntu pledged to establish a national development bank aimed at accelerating economic growth through business financing and agricultural support.

He also promised to introduce universal medical insurance for all Ugandans once elected president.

“I am tested, and my record speaks for itself,” Muntu told supporters. “So kindly vote for me — and even if you don’t like me, never attack any opponent, because we need each other in this struggle.”
