WAKISO - Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) presidential flag-bearer Maj. Gen. (rtd) Mugisha Muntu says once elected, he will introduce new justice reforms to ensure that even the ordinary poor citizens can access fair trial, justice and start winning cases in the courts of law just like the rich in his government.
Challenging the current judicial system, which he says has been thriving on widespread corruption, is subject to Executive meddling and presidential directives, Muntu pledges to ensure that justice is no longer the privilege of the rich.
"Under my government, when elected, I will fight corruption in the lands ministry and the Judiciary, who have denied all the land rights to the poor," he said.

"If the court system is fair, even poor people can win cases. If they bribe the Police or the judges, we shall arrest them under my government," the tough-talking Muntu said. (All Photos by Stuart Yiga)

Muntu revealed on November 2, 2025, while campaigning at Seguku ward, Makindye – Ssabagabo municipality in Wakiso district.
"If the court system is fair, even poor people can win cases. If they bribe the Police or the judges, we shall arrest them under my government," the tough-talking Muntu said.
"The unjust country can't have peace, and that's why a new government should be in position to instil hope back to the locals through a fair justice system".

Land grabbing worry citizensSeguku area resident Augustine Rwabuni said land grabbing in the area has been orchestrated by the lands ministry officials who issue multiple titles on similar pieces of land.
"Now that you have come here to ask for our votes, you should help us deal with corrupt land officials who give out people's land without even the knowledge of local council leaders," he said.
Rwabuni challenged locals to keep reporting land matters whenever they come up to be able to handle the cases when it is still early.

ANT flag-bearer for Busiro East parliamentary seat, Fatuma Bangi, revealed that access to justice is indeed so difficult, especially for the ordinary poor Ugandans who can neither afford services of a lawyer nor bear the cost of filing court documents for their cases to be heard before the courts of law.
“Whereas majority of Ugandans are illiterate about the justice system, more needs to be done to build confidence among ordinary persons that they can actually receive justice from the judicial system.”
Corruption has been evident in our courts, which has also scared litigants from pursuing their claims, Bangi elaborated.

PFF to tackle land grabbing
Wakiso district Woman MP aspirant on Peoples’ Front for Freedom (PFF) ticket, Joan Nabatanzi vowed to fight land grabbing and unfair property rates that come with planning approvals at the district council hall.
“Fighting corruption is one of the reasons we joined efforts with Muntu to steer this country forward,” she said.

Shun electing leaders who give you bribes as if you are beggars Nabatanzi challenged voters who want to support political leaders in exchange for money, saying that the habit cripples service delivery in the country.
“You need to keep fighting injustices, land grabbing and corrupt government even when you do not have money. This is the struggle to fight for the better of our country. Do not accept handouts and money because you shall be kept in captivity for the rest of your lives. Vote capable leaders, and it is us,” she insisted.
