How to choose shelves, racks for your bathroom

A well-organized bathroom is a reflection of the owner’s personality. It also makes usage easier since one can easily get what they want.

Shelves and racks can enhance the overall design and ambience of any bathroom according to Christine Tendo, an interior designer, but while installing them, ensure they blend well with the existing accessories such as the curtains, facets, lights and wall paint. 

Decide if you want adjustable or fixed shelves.

You should also consider your décor style; do you prefer minimalist, traditional or contemporary? For example, if you settle for a minimalist style, introduce light wood tones because wood gives off a bright and airy feel. It also adds warmth and a touch of nature to the bathroom. If you love contemporary, then install glass shelves.

The style you choose will determine the feel of the room; whether cozy, cramped, or open and airy. 

When it comes to selecting the design, colour and other decorative details of the shelves, Tendo says there are no rules. Pick what will complement your space for a cohesive look. 

However, if your bathroom is small, choose vertical shelves, like a ladder-style shelf or a hanging basket organizer.

Feel free to also add the little things that add a pop of colour. For example, a colourful toothbrush holder, a soap dish that looks like your favourite animal and a potted plant.
