The men’s rugby clubs will renew their rivalry in the opening round of the Nile Special National Rugby 7s Circuit at Kings Park Arena in Bweyogerere on Saturday and Sunday.

Sixteen teams including 10 core teams and four invited sides are pooled in four pools with defending champions Kobs leading pool A, which has Makerere Impis, Jinja-based side Walukuba, and Jaguar.

Pool B has the Stanbic Black Pirates, Warriors, Kobs’ second side Boks, and Pirates’ second side Sailors, Pool C has Heathens, Plascon Mongers, Rams, and Rams II, while Pool D has got Jinja Hippos, Toyota buffaloes, Rhinos and Ntangas.

In this tournament, the ten core teams include Kobs, Stanbic Pirates, Impis, Hippos, Heathens, Buffaloes, Rams, Mongers, Warriors, and Walukuba.

The circuit will also have the women's clubs; Avengers, Black Pearls, Ewes, and Thunderbirds battle for the women's honours.

The Nile Special National Sevens has sevens circuits including Mbale (August 13), Arua Circuit in Arua (August 27th) Henry Rujumba circuit (September 3-4), Tooro Circuit (August 17), Kyabazinga 7s (September 24-25), Buffaloes circuit (October 15-16).

According to the tournament director Robert Bwali, all the circuits in the central region shall be two-day circuits, while the up-country events shall be for one-day
