After finishing fourth in the 2022/2023 National Netball League, Makindye Weyonje Netball Club is implementing a series of strategic measures to secure a spot in the top three positions in the upcoming National Netball Super League scheduled for October.

To secure a place in the top three, the Board of Directors has initiated a comprehensive strategy aimed at ensuring the club's success.

During a recent board meeting held at Makindye division headquarters, the club's chairperson, Ali Nganda Mulyanyama, highlighted the paramount importance of prioritising the development and well-being of their players as a pivotal factor in elevating their overall performance.

In pursuit of its objectives, the club has bolstered its roster by signing seven new players, aiming to fill the void created by the departure of their former captain, Shakira Nassaka, who has joined NIC Netball Club.

Club secretary Ronald Nakabaale emphasizes the club will organize professional courses for the players to ensure better results.

“Maturity of our players and mental strength is much needed. When we competed at East Africa club championships, we realized how important professional courses are to our players. I believe we shall have better results,” Nakabaale explained

In the previous season, Makindye Weyonje secured the fourth position in the standings, trailing behind NIC and KCCA, while Prisons clinched the league championship title.

The National Netball Super League is set to commence after the next month, featuring the participation of 14 clubs.
