Entebbe Ultimate Club finished fifth in classification games after being ejected at the quarterfinal stage of the All Africa Frisbee Club Championships in Kisumu – Kenya.

Entebbe Ultimate lost 8-9 to a Nairobi-based Kemri Frisbee Club.

"We would have qualified to the semifinals and we had what it takes, but the lack of line judges at the quarterfinal stage cost us because the opponents were arrogant and continued to make false calls all the time,” said Entebbe Ultimate Club captain Idat Nakazibwe.

She, however, consoled that there is an ardent need to increase the player base for more clubs to play the game in Uganda.

The president of Uganda Ultimate Frisbee Association (UUFA), Brian Kaswa who led the delegation said Frisbee in Uganda has potential, a reason they have started developing it in schools and universities.

“We want to see the game in the national primary school competitions and also in the universities,” Kaswa noted.

The continental event was due to have the inaugural national team’s competitions but only three countries namely, Uganda, Comoros, and hosts Kenya were ready.

“We want to see the game in the national primary school competitions and also in the universities,” Kaswa noted.

The president of the All Africa Flying Disc Federation (AAFDF), Alex Matovu called on more countries to honour continental events to build a strong background of the sport that has already been recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

"We had the continental national championship on the calendar that was supposed to run before the club championships. But countries like South Africa, Egypt, Ghana, Nigeria, and Namibia pulled out and we resorted to having the club championships. We are however happy with those that sent representatives like Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Rwanda that constituted an All-Africa Combined team," noted Matovu.

In the club category, Uganda had Entebbe Ultimate Frisbee and Impala Ultimate Clubs that finished fifth and ninth respectively.
