Solomon Ssemukette is looking to maximise points in all archery tournaments to qualify for 2028 Los Angeles Olympics after missing out on the 2024 Paris Olympics.
“I am now setting my focus on all the local, continental, and international archery championship to be able to qaulify for the 2028 Olympics after missing out on the 2024 edition," Ssemukette said.
He noted this after clinching gold at Makerere University rugby grounds where he accumulated 230 points in the 70m category of the national archery championship.
The tournament is to be held quarterly to allow the archers to keep fit for national team duty.

Ssemukette beat Paul Guulier and David Batwala in the 70m category, while in the 50m category, Thomas Baumgarten accumulated 266 points hence clinching gold
Forty archers took part in the championships with para-archers doing a tryout in 15m category.
“We want to promote all kinds of inclusion by having them take part in our championships since they have a comparative advantage in international tournaments,” Assimwe stated
Assimwe also urged Ssemukette to fully utilize his free time to perfect his target since he has a lot of potential to make it big.
