“We shall set up an advisory committee on how we start the 2024 calendar, and that committee will be announced soon,” he added.

“This meeting has been very fruitful. “We are aware four clubs have to go for international engagement of which one (NIC) is the defending champion and they cannot lose that opportunity,” Mwase said after the meeting.

The meeting held at Uganda Olympics Committee offices in Lugogo agreed that there is more work to be done for the sport to return to normal status.

The meeting had netball club chairpersons, secretaries, coaches, and district netball association officials, who also agreed that proper procedures be followed before the activities resume.

Whereas many were pushing for the league to be thrown off soon, it was unclear who shall sanction that league, and under which constitution and regulations to be followed.

“There is no need for rush when the house is not in order. Let us first work on the constitution, know who is and which regulations we are following, then start the League,” Busia Netball Club Chairman Muhamed Sifuna said.

He was supported by former UNF vice chairman George William Bwambale who urged members to give the Normalisation more time to re-organise sport well and organise the election.

National Insurance Corporation (NIC) netball Club manager Jocelyn Ucanda was impressed with the outcome of the meeting.

“Now we are out of the darkness, and we are happy to know what is going on. The players were affected because they want competition, but this meeting has brought back the vibe,” The former She Cranes Manager said.
