Uganda’s tour of the United Kingdom has paid dividends after the team went back to number six in the world rankings.

World Netball released the official World Rankings for matches played up to the first of March and it showed Uganda had made a jump from seventh to sixth.

Sixth is the highest world ranking Uganda has ever held and by going back it shows the progress the team has made over the last year.

World Netball Clarified that teams earn ranking points depending on the following scenarios

The number of points earned by a team for any match depends on two factors. The result (won, drawn, lost) and the opponent against whom the result was achieved. The higher an opponent’s rating the more points are earned for beating them.

If a team wins a match, they will earn 50 points more than their opponent’s rating.  But if they lose, they will earn 50 points less than their opponent’s rating.

The She Cranes may not have won any match at the Vitality Netball Nations Cup but their big performance in games against the top three also gave them vital points.
