Buloba Zone Schools competitions take center stage

God Cares High School clinched a quadruple in the Buloba Zones secondary schools post primaries games that were held at Kikaaya College playgrounds in Wakiso district, along Mityana road.

God Cares who defeated Watoto Hope SS (4-3) in last year’s girl’s finals, retained their title by winning 1-0 against the same school in this year’s finals, a goal that was scored by Ruth Monica Kabedha in the first half of the game.

The chairperson of the head teachers in Buloba zone and the owner of Kikaaya College Charles Mubiru explained that, ‘this year we have had 17 school that have taken part in the competition, which is an increase in the number  that we usually have.’

It has also been a peaceful and competitive tournament where the winners shall represent our zone on the regional level, and if God wishes to the district. Mubiru says.

God Cares emerged the giants on the zone level after winning four trophies, one of which was the boy’s football finals after defeating Central College 4-2 in a penalty shootout after an intense 1-1 draw in 90 minutes.

 This was their first football title in the boy’s category after losing two consecutive semi-finals, one in 2022 against Abu Aisha where they lost 8-7 on penalties and a 2-0 against Onward and Upward in 2023. They also went t on to win both the volleyball and basketball in the boy’s category.

In the girl’s category, Buloba High School won the netball trophy, Light Secondary school (volleyball), Kikaaya College (basketball and pickle ball which was a new games that was introduced).
