Uganda Cricket unveils Fitness Junction Gym and Spa as well partners

Uganda Cricket Association has unveiled Fitness Junction Gym and Spa as the official wellness partner for the Cricket Cranes that is preparing for the forthcoming 2024 ICC T20 Cricket World Cup set for June 1 to 29  in the USA and West Indies.

The offer is extended to the 25 players who are part of the training squad for the World Cup.

Uganda Cricket Association CEO John Walusimbi is excited about this partnership.

 “We are incredibly excited to join forces with Fitness Junction Gym and Spa as we embark on our journey to the World Cup. Their world-class facilities and expertise will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in optimizing our performance and ensuring that we are in peak physical condition for the tournament.” Walusimbi stated.

Fitness Junction Gym and Spa Manager Fahad Aslam highlighted the significance of this move.

“As passionate supporters of cricket and advocates for community development, we are thrilled to witness Uganda's journey in the T20 World Cup. In light of this significant milestone, we would like to extend our support to the Uganda Cricket Team and contribute to their success both on and off the field.” Aslam said.

The Cricket Cranes is currently doubling training in the gym and on the pitch.

With the return of all-rounder Riazat Ali Shah and Ronak Patel who missed the last two engagements for the Cricket Cranes in Sri Lanka and the African Games in Ghana all back on the team, Cricket Cranes interim coach Jackson Ogwang is comfortable with the current setting.

“If feel we are in the right state, with the remaining days to the World Cup, we shall be good to go,” Ogwang explained.

The Cricket Cranes will travel to Sri Lanka on 25th April for the last preps before the World Cup.

The first tour in February was a misery for the Cricket Cranes losing all the seven games played and will need to up the game.

In the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup, Uganda is in group C with co-hosts West Indies, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and Papua New Guinea.
