Men: KIU v Power

KIU Titans’ season is yet to truly take off.

There is still plenty of basketball to go in the 2024 NBL season and with it, a lot of opportunity for the Titans to hit their stride.

Today’s meeting with D’Mark Power should see KIU take another step in the right direction. That, at least, is what the form book suggests, because in Power, they take on a sleeping giant who has found wins hard to come by this season.

Power have won just four of their 10 games so far and sit ninth on the log. One of those four victories, however, is the scalp of the Namuwongo Blazers, a warning to the Titans not to expect a victory just upon arrival.

KIU claimed their sixth win in 10 games Wednesday with the 78-51 victory over the JT Jaguars. Edgar Munaba dropped a game-high 16 points to go along with 13 rebounds for the Titans, while Collins Kasujja and Denis Omara added 14 and 13 points respectively.

The win helped KIU bounce back from their shock 67-61 loss to the KIU Panthers on the weekend, and victory over Power will put last year’s losing finalists on course to a three-game winning end to the first half.

KIU face the Ndejje Angels in their last game in the first round. This is Power’s last game in the first round.
