Uganda did not have a perfect start to the Paris 2024 Paralympics as Husnah Kukundakwe's seventh-place finish in the women's 100m breaststroke-SB8 ruled her out of the finals after finishing out of qualification position.
Kukundakwe had a good start but she lost out midway as she lost momentum to keep up with the pace of the other swimmers in a very competitive heat.
Great Britain's Brock Whiston and Ireland's Ellen Keane finished in position one and second respectively.
Kukundakwe still optimistically believes she will make amends in the freestyle S8 and 100m freestyle s8.
She however confirmed to Vision Sport that she is set to double her efforts in the remaining events to qualify for the finals.
"I am now going to focus more on my training and I pledge to work on my endurance and resilience levels," she said.
