Lady Rugby Cranes dominate day one of 2024 Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens

It was an immaculate day for the Lady Rugby Cranes Sevens as they thumped Côte d’Ivoire 48-0 in their first fixture.

The 2024 Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens kicked off  Saturday at the University of Ghana Rugby Grounds.

It was an immaculate day for the Lady Rugby Cranes Sevens as they thumped Côte d’Ivoire 48-0 in their first fixture. In their second fixture, Uganda walloped Senegal 39-0 before closing the day with a 31-7 win against Zambia.

“We are taking each game as a final, but tomorrow will be the biggest day for us,” said Lady Rugby Cranes captain Peace Lekuru after day one. Uganda’s day one results saw them finishing top of Group C and qualifying for the quarterfinals.

Nile Special-sponsored Lady Rugby Cranes Sevens face Tunisia in the second main quarterfinal of the day at 12:22 PM.
