The Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) has confirmed a record-breaking 91 player transfers this season, setting the stage for one of the most competitive volleyball seasons in the country’s history.

“We’re excited to announce that the federation has approved 91 player transfers,” UVF said in a statement. “These changes are a significant step toward strengthening our teams and building a more competitive volleyball community.”

Sport-S Volleyball Club dominates transfer headlines

Sport-S Volleyball Club from Nsambya made the biggest splash, signing 13 new players across their men’s and women’s teams. The men’s team recently clinched their seventh league title, while the women’s team celebrated their first-ever national championship.

New additions to the men’s squad include Pike Mugisha (Bugema University), James Amoding, Bosco Opila, and Davis Ssuma. The women’s team welcomed Rashidah Maajabu (Kinawa High School), Abigail Aliok, and Desire Kyomugasho.

KCB Nkumba strengthens squad after runner-up finish

KCB Nkumba Volleyball Club, last season’s women’s league runners-up, have reinforced their lineup with receiver Peace Businge and setter Margaret Namawejje. Departing the team are Hadijjah Acelen and Lillian Adele Salume.

“We’re boosting our attack and setting as we prepare for the new season,” said head coach Tony Lakony. “Competition is intensifying, and we must keep improving to stay competitive.”

KCB Nkumba also participated in the 2025 Genocide Memorial Volleyball Tournament in Rwanda, honoring victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. All five Ugandan teams—Chazpier VC, VVC, Sky VC, Ndejje Elites, and KCB Nkumba—reached the quarterfinals, highlighting Uganda’s growing regional strength.
