FUFA boss Moses Magogo revealed this information to the Cranes players ahead of their group C opening match on Monday night against Algeria at Mandela National Stadium Namboole. Uganda is drawn in a tough group alongside Niger, Guinea, South Africa and Algeria.
President Museveni's generous pledge mirrors similar commitments made by fellow East African leaders. Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Kenya’s President William Samoei Ruto have also promised massive winning bonuses to their national teams, underscoring the high stakes and national pride tied to the tournament.
The CHAN 2024 is being co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania under the Pamoja bid, marking the first time in the tournament's history that it is jointly staged by three countries.
