Fishermen gear up for Buganda Boat Regatta

More than 70 fishermen at the Nakiwogo landing site in Entebbe on Saturday showed off their boating racing skills as they gear up for the Buganda boat regatta competitions that are set for next year.

Speaking at the function, Eng. Ben Emmanuel Misaga, the chairperson of the committee that runs the Buganda boat regatta said, "Nowadays, sports has become a source of income for the participants, and this is the main aim of the boat races."

"We shall achieve this by taking the sport to an international level, and this is the main reason why we have started by teaching the participants the rules and regulations of the games because this was the main problem in the last editions."

We have set a benchmark and standards on how the competitions we had a technical orientation and training toward the participants.
