Yumbe District receives sh9b PDM cash

The State Minister for Defence in charge of veteran affairs, Huda Oleru, has asked the people of Yumbe to embrace Parish Development Model (PDM) to achieve Social Economic Transformation, President Yoweri Museveni advocates for.

This was after the LC V Chairman revealed that Yumbe had so far received sh9.1 billion of the PDM funds.

The Parish Development Model is premised on the model that the Parish Development Committee (PDC) together with common citizens as the end user of social services are better placed to identify and respond to their own needs, priorities, and direct use of resources.

Minister Oleru also confirmed that all the WNBF (West Nile Bank Front  Front) Veterans had been verified and will be paid starting this week.

Huda had gone to inaugurate a Health Centre II maternity ward built by the UPDF Engineers as part of this year's Defence Forces week.

She was accompanied by the Director of CIMIC, who represented the Chief of Defence Forces, the 4th Division Commander, & the Deputy Director Defence Public Information.
