Church releases Fr Ssonko’s burial programme

Rev Fr Dr Deogratias Ssonko, hitherto the Kampala Archdiocesan Director of Projects and also curate of Kyengera Catholic parish who died on Tuesday (April 2, 2024) will be buried at Kisubi Minor Seminary on Friday (April 5, 2024). The burial activities will start with a requiem mass at 11:00am.

The deceased cleric’s funeral programme was announced by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese, the Most Rev Paul Ssemogerere during the lunch-hour mass at Lubaga Cathedral on Wednesday (April 3, 2024). Ssemogerere asked the Catholic faithful to pray for Ssonko so that God considers him worthy to be with Him in His heavenly kingdom.

Prior to being appointed as the Kampala Archdiocesan Director of Projects, Fr Ssonko served the Church in various capacities. During the early years of his priesthood, he served as parish-priest of Nattyole, He also later served as the Retor of Uganda Martyrs Catholic Shrine, Namugongo. Ssonko, who did his Theological Studies at St Mbaaga’s Major Seminary Ggaba, was also a celebrated organist and guru Catholic Divine Liturgy.
