It seems like  bad luck keeps following National Unity Platform (NUP) chief mobiliser Fred Nyanzi when it comes to his wedding.

First, Nyanzi, commonly known as Chairman Nyanzi, postponed his wedding to Majorine Namukisa Katumba after the President introduced scientific weddings, a concept in which the number of guests was restricted and parties banned to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in 2020.

Nyanzi's wedding had been scheduled to take place at Rubaga Cathedral in October 2020 after the introduction ceremony in Kyakwanzi district on March 14, 2020.

On April 24, his kasiki (stag party) that was supposed to take place at Catwalk Bar & Lounge in Kololo, a city suburb, from 9:00pm till late was abruptly stopped.

When Chairman Nyanzi and his team arrived at the venue, they were shocked to find the bar closed off.

"The RDC of Kampala has ordered us to close the bar. He instructed us not to allow members of the National Unity Platform to have their stag party from here, so we could not reject the RDC's command," the manager, who did not want to disclose his name, said.

He apologised to Chairman Nyanzi, offering to find him another venue to host the party such as Komatose Lounge located in Kisaasi, a Kampala suburb.

Nyanzi and his team.eventually agreed to go to  Komatose Lounge, where the party went on well.

In an interview with New Vision, Nyanzi said: "There was no politics involved in my kasiki. It was a party wishing me well as I prepare for my wedding. We had no ill intentions," he stated.

Nyanzi's wedding is slated for this Friday, April 26, at Rubaga Cathedral. The after-party will take place at Freedom City on Entebbe Road.

Good luck, Chairman Nyanzi!
