Kampala City BSC 7-1 Grace Church

Despite thumping bottom-placed Grace Church 7-1 in the first match of the second round, Kampala City BSC coach Ivan Kulika was disappointed by his team's work in the second match when they went down 4-3 against giant killers MS Sand Lions in the FUFA Beach League at FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

This was Kampala City BSC's second loss of the season after going down 11-4 to four times reigning champions St Lawrence BSC at the stroke of the first round last month.

"I had about 7 players for the day who all ran out of steam after using a lot of energy in the first match when we defeated Grace Church. But we are still hunting for the four slots of the playoffs as our main target this season," said Kulika who still has his team in second position with 27 points, one less than the leaders St Lawrence BSC who have played a game less.

The champions though had a stroll in the park for the day when they had both Brian Nkuubi and Sulaiman Ochero net four times as well as goals from Isaac Eshioke, Farouk Ssemukutu, and Jonathan Kikonyogo in the game where they thrashed Wolves BSC 11-4.

In the shock of the day, Mengo Hill got their third win of the campaign following their 4-3 win over MS Sand Lions.

A brace from Benjamin Tembo, Simon Nuwagaba, and Evans Ninsiima ensured the royals climbed up to the seventh position with 9 points.

MS Sand Lions had goals from Abbey Kavuma (2) and Boniface Apamaku (1).

Elsewhere, Buganda Royal and Mutoola BSC continued to press hard for the top four slots following their victories over Kiringente BSC.

Buganda Royal defeated Kiringente BSC 3-1, while Mutoola BSC thumped the same opponent 4-1.
