Coach Abdallah Mubiru has been appointed KCCA FC's new head coach.

Sources at Lugogo revealed that Mubiru was chosen by the board and will be in charge for two years.

"The identity of the club needs to stay around. This is one of the things we follow and that's why we have taken long to decide. You want us to leave the identity of the club then we win and later we sack the coach. That's now recycling. If we are not in the title race then why can't we get someone who fits in our style and we build the team? When we do a quick fix, it doesn't help the development of the club," noted the source who preferred anonymity.

The board had a choice between Mubiru and Alex Isabirye but settled on Mubiru.

Isabirye was brought into the mix because some thought he was a quick fixer but his style of play could not fit into the team's philosophy and that's where Mubiru beat him to the job. He will be unveiled on Friday.

Mubiru was in 2015 sacked at the club and replaced by Mike Mutebi.

While appearing before the vetting committee, Mubiru revealed that in 2015 he was not giving time despite bringing in new players who had to gel.
