Today

JKL Dolphins v UCU Lady Canons 7 pm

Namuwongo Blazers v City Oilers 9pm

Last season, Namuwongo Blazers formally announced their withdrawal from the National Basketball League, a few days before the finals.

This was after FUBA’s announcement that the champions of the 2023 season were not designated to represent Uganda in the 2023/24 Basketball Africa League (BAL) Campaign.

However, this denied Ugandan basketball fanatics a mouth-watering final between the Blazers and the league champions City Oilers.

Oilers are so far unbeaten in the 5 games this season, while their opponents played 5 – 1 in the regular season.

Ivan Muhwezi, James Okello, Tony Drilleba, Fayed Baale, and Titus Odeke will be back on the court for the Oilers after participating in the AfroBasket Qualifiers for the Silverbacks in Tunisia last month.

If this is the final basketball fans missed last season, this is the game to watch as the two teams face each other today in a jaw-dropping encounter (Friday) at 9 pm

Earlier at 7 pm, UCU Lady Canons will seek payback against the reigning champion JKL Lady Dolphins in a thrilling National Basketball League encounter at Lugogo.

Last season, the Dolphins swept away the Lady Canons in the playoffs, winning 3-0. The latter then went on to face the KIU Rangers and won the series 4-1 to be crowned champions.

The loss for the Mukono-based side also ended their decade-long appearance in the finals.

UCU Last week easily defeated Nabisunsa 97-49 at home in Mukono, while JKL last stormed the Stormers 78 – 56 on February 14th.

The Dolphins have a 4-0 record, while the Lady Canons are 5-1 in this year’s regular season.
